VIDEO: TERESA COX ELIA'S HALL OF FAME INDUCTION

Teresa (Terry) Cox Elia played three sports during her four years at Bridgewater College. She played basketball for four years and played tennis and field hockey for three seasons.

Elia finished her basketball playing career ranked second in both assists and steals. Her 410 career assists and 223 career steals still rank in the Top 10 in the women’s basketball record book.

Elia still holds the single-season assists mark with her 181 assists dished out during her senior season. She also added 891 points and 377 rebounds during her four-year career.

During her four years, the Eagles posted a 77-38 overall record.  During her first three years, the program advanced to the regional level in AIAW competition and twice played in the national tournament.  During her freshman season, the Eagles finished first in the state, sixth in the region, and lost in the first round of the national tournament.  The Eagles were second at both the state and regional level and once again lost in the opening round of the national tournament during Elia’s junior season.
Bridgewater joined the ODAC prior to Elia's final season and, as a senior, she helped lead the Eagles to a first-place finish during the regular season and a second-place finish at the conference tournament.

In recognition of her outstanding career Teresa Cox Elia is worthy of induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame
