Bridgewater College first baseman Robbi Moose was one of the most productive hitters in Eagles’ baseball history.

After playing his freshman season at Virginia Wesleyan where he was a first-team all-region selection, Moose transferred to Bridgewater College where he rewrote the program’s record books.

Moose was named ODAC Player of the Year in three straight seasons (1998, 1999, 2000) and was a first-team all-region selection in each of those three seasons. Twice, he earned All-America honors, being named to the second team in 1999 and the third team in 2000. He was a team captain for the Eagles in 1999 and 2000.

Moose graduated as the program’s career-leader in hitting with a .427 batting average, a mark that still stands more than two decades following his graduation. He also still holds the program record with a career .820 slugging percentage. When he graduated, Moose held career program records in doubles with 51, homers with 33 and total bases with 338.

In addition to his career marks, Moose still holds Bridgewater season records in RBIs (59), homers (17), total bases (143), extra-base hits (39) and slugging percentage (.889).

Moose helped lead the 1999 Eagles to the ODAC Championship and a trip the NCAA Division III baseball tournament.

Following his senior season, he was drafted in Round 24 of the Major League Baseball player draft by the Atlanta Braves.

Upon completion of his playing career, he embarked on a career as a teacher and coach in public education. He worked his way up through the ranks and in 2010 became a middle school principal, a position he still holds.

Moose holds a Bachelor of Science in health sciences from Bridgewater College and a Master of Education in educational administration from the University of Virginia.

In recognition of his outstanding playing career while a student-athlete and his work as an educator, Robbi Moose is worthy of induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
