Sarah Pritchett Hayward was a two-sport standout during her four years at Bridgewater College, earning all-conference recognition in both soccer and lacrosse.

Hayward was named to the All-ODAC soccer second team in 2000, 2001 and 2002. She finished her career on the pitch as the program’s all-time leader in points, goals and assists. She still ranks No. 1 in career points with 111 and career goals with 45. She also holds single-season records for points with 39, goals with 18 and assists with 13.

During the spring sports season, Hayward turned her attention to lacrosse where she was also a three-time all-conference pick, earning first-team honors in 2001 and 2002. She was also named to the All-South Atlantic Region second team. She ranks in the Top 10 at Bridgewater in career goals, career assists and career points.

Since graduation, Hayward has been working in education as an elementary school teacher. In 2014 she was named Teacher of the Year by her peers at South River Elementary School.

Hayward also spent two summers travelling around the country teaching life skills to special needs teenagers and young adults.

In recognition of her accomplishments as a two-sport athlete while at Bridgewater College, Sarah Pritchett Hayward is deserving of induction into the College’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
