Sydney Fultz John was a two-sport standout during her career at Bridgewater College.

John played four years on the lacrosse team, earning second-team All-ODAC honors as a sophomore and first team honors during her junior and senior seasons. She was a 1995 VWLA third team selection and a 1996 and 1997 USIWL Brine second team all-region pick, serving as team captain during her junior and senior years. The team finished with a 9-5 record during John 's senior season. Following her senior season, she was selected to the North-South Senior All-Star game.

John also excelled on the volleyball court for the Eagles. During her four seasons, the Eagles compiled a 94-30 overall record. The Eagles were runner-up in the ODAC during the 1994 season and won the ODAC championship in 1996, her senior season. As a senior, John was a first-team All-ODAC selection, ODAC tournament Most Valuable Player and the ODAC Player of the Year. She was a second-team All-ODAC pick as a junior. She still ranks in the Top 10 on the BC all-time kills list with 936.

Following graduation from Bridgewater, John served as an assistant women 's volleyball coach at Western Illinois University in 2000 where she also coached the men 's club volleyball team in 2000 and 2001.

John earned masters degrees in physical education and counselor education from Western Illinois University in 2002 and 2003 respectively.

For her outstanding athletic accomplishments during her playing career and for her success following graduation, Sydney Fultz John is deserving of induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
