Bridgewater College Cheerleading
Welcome to Bridgewater College Cheerleading! Bridgewater is a Division III member of the NCAA and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). This program operates under Head Coach Lexia Werner, and is an integral part of BC Athletics. As visual ambassadors to the College, we believe in creating and maintaining well-rounded athletes, who challenge not only their athletic ability, but their leadership qualities as well. The Bridgewater College experience is unique, and the Cheerleading program has the opportunity to shape the spirits and traditions culture for all students.
The cheerleading team is comprised of enthusiastic student-athletes who cheer at all home football, men's basketball and women's basketball events. Members of the BC Cheerleading program will be required to support those athletic teams. All cheerleaders must maintain good academic standing per the Bridgewater College student-athlete handbook. In addition to practices, games, and events, all cheerleaders will be required to participate in a weight-lifting program with the BC strength and conditioning staff and be an integral member to school pride functions.

Bridgewater College cheerleading has announced in-person tryouts for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.
Athletes will be evaluated on the completion of the below requirements and on how much potential you have to become a Bridgewater College cheerleader.
- Incoming first-year students ARE eligible to try out. Proof of admittance, acceptance and paid deposit will be required.
- Transfer students and current BC students are eligible to try out, and should be in good academic standing.
- Coaching staff makes the final team selections.
All interested student-athletes must fill out the Bridgewater College Cheerleading Interest Form. Forms must be completed by Friday, August 18.
