Carolyn Anderson Barrett was a two-sport standout during her time as a student-athlete at Bridgewater College.  Barrett ran track and played field hockey while at Bridgewater and was a team captain in each sport during her senior season.

Women's track was not an ODAC-sanctioned sport during Barrett's time at Bridgewater, but meets and championships were held.  In 1993 and 1995 she won outdoor championships in both the 100-and 200-meter events and was a member of the championship 4x100 relay teams in both years.  Barrett also ran indoor track, winning ODAC titles in the 400 meters in 1992 and the 55 meters in 1993.

Barrett also excelled in field hockey where she finished her career as one of the top players in Bridgewater history.  She was named to the All-ODAC first team four times (1991-1994) and was also a first-team All-South Region pick in 1991, 1992, and 1994 and a second-team pick in 1993.  In 1994, she was a third-team All-American selection.

Barrett was also involved in many extra-curricular activities while at Bridgewater, including Omicron Delta Kappa, a leadership society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Concert and Oratorio choirs.

As a senior, she received the Marjorie Berkley Scholar-Athlete Award from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  The award is the highest honor presented by the conference and recognizes the student's accomplishments in athletics, academics, and extra-curricular activities.

Following graduation from Bridgewater College, Barrett started a career in education as a Spanish team and coach in the Page County school system.
