VIDEO: NANCY HARKER ROSCHER HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY
Nancy Harker Roscher played three sports - basketball, field hockey and lacrosse - during her career at Bridgewater College.
Nancy played two years on the varsity basketball team and during her senior season the team won the state small college tournament and placed sixth in the Region II tournament.
Nancy also was a solid performer in field hockey. She played four years and was selected to play in the Southeast tournament following her junior season. As a senior, the Eagles finished with an 11-6-2 record. The team placed first in the Blue Ridge Field Hockey Association tournament and sixth in the region.
Nancy's best sport was lacrosse. She was named to the Virginia Women's Lacrosse Association second team as a freshman and was named to the VWLA first team the next three years. As a junior, she was named to the Southern District fourth team. The Eagles posted a winning record in each of her four years. In 1976 the team finished with a 10-0-1 record - the only undefeated lacrosse team in Bridgewater College history.
Following graduation from Bridgewater, Nancy owned and operated an artist supply store for five years. She also taught in after-school programs for elementary and middle school students. She has been involved in church and community activities, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a volunteer at elementary and middle schools and as a 4-H leader. Nancy considers raising three children as her greatest accomplishment. For the past 15 years, Nancy has assisted her father in his business.
In recognition of her efforts as a multi-sport athlete at Bridgewater College, Nancy Harker Roscher is deserving of induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
