Dan Rush left his mark on the Bridgewater College record books as one of the top players in men’s basketball program history.

Rush was named ODAC Freshman of the Year and followed that season with by leading Bridgewater in scoring, field goal percentage and free throw percentage as a sophomore.

As a junior, Rush ranked second in the nation in shooting, making 71 percent of his field goal attempts, while earning second-team All-ODAC honors.

As a senior, Rush led the ODAC in scoring with a 25.6 average and was named the conference Player of the Year. He was named to the All-South Region first team and was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America First Team.

Rush finished his playing career with 1,756 points to rank No. 5 all-time at Bridgewater College.

While at Bridgewater, Rush was active in the student senate from 1993-1995. He was also a member of the Bridgewater Concert Choir and Chorale for three years.

Rush is employed with State Farm Insurance Companies where he has worked for the past 17 years. He also continues to be involved in the game of basketball as a coach in the Pinehurst, N.C., youth recreational league.

In recognition of his stellar playing career on the basketball court Dan Rush is worthy of induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
