VIDEO: BARRY MYERS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY

Barry Myers was a dominant performer on the football field during his four seasons at Bridgewater College. Barry led the Eagles in tackles all four years, averaging 15-20 tackles each game. He was named the Outstanding Lineman in the Civitan Bowl against Shepherd College in 1965. He was named to the All-Mason-Dixon Conference team as a defensive middle guard four straight seasons and was selected to the All-Virginia State Small College team as a junior and senior. In 1968, Barry led the Eagles to their first-ever victory over Hampden-Sydney, 7-3, with 19 tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception. He was a co-captain during his senior season and was voted the team's MVP.

In 1972, Barry was named as one of the "Outstanding Elementary Teachers in America,"  while serving with the Richmond Public Schools. Two years later, he left the education profession to embark on a successful career in the business world.

Barry is very active in community service as a member of numerous civic clubs and charitable organizations. He has also kept close ties with his alma mater, serving as president of the Richmond Chapter of the BC Alumni Association and as a member of the BC Estate Planning Committee.

For his exceptional performance on the gridiron and his leadership in school, business, and civic activities, Barry Myers merits induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
