VIDEO: BILL DUKE HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY

Bill Duke was a four-year starter for the Bridgewater College football team, seeing considerable action on both sides of the ball.

As a junior, Duke was an honorable mention pick on the Mason-Dixon all-conference team. During his senior season with the Eagles, he served as a team co-captain while being named the outstanding small college lineman in the state. Duke also received Bridgewater’s 12th-man award that signified his contributions as a two-way player. Duke played center on offense and linebacker on defense.

Following graduation from Bridgewater, Duke embarked on a career in education spanning more than three decades.

In his 33-year coaching career, Duke coached five different sports. He coached football for 19 years with five years as a head coach. Duke also served as head coach for track and field, golf and girls’ volleyball. He was an assistant coach in baseball for nine seasons.

In recognition of his outstanding playing career on the gridiron while at Bridgewater and his dedication to high-school student-athletes for more than three decades, Bill Duke is deserving of induction into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
