Andy Moore graduated as one of the top baseball players in Bridgewater College history and still ranks among the best in several statistical categories.

After earning All-ODAC second-team honors as a freshman, Moore was a first-team All-ODAC pick the next two seasons. As a sophomore, Moore hit for a .420 average with seven home runs and helped lead the Eagles to the 1991 ODAC Championship. Following his junior season, in addition to being All-ODAC first team, Moore also received first-team All-South Region and first-team All-America honors. Moore hit for a .440 batting average with seven home runs and 33 runs batted in. Moore was drafted by the Boston Red Sox and signed a professional contract during the summer following his stellar junior season. Moore played two seasons in the minor leagues.

The Eagles standout left the program as the all-time leader in home runs with 18 and still ranks 11th in career homers. His .390 career batting average ranks fifth in program history.

After college, Moore entered the business world as a financial adviser and portfolio manager. He served on the Board of Directors for Funkwerk Americas, a startup company in the hands-free device market. Currently he works in the retirement planning industry as the national sales director for Annexus.

Moore stayed involved in the sports world as the business manager for WBC lightweight boxing world champion Joel Casamayor. He also managed the marketing rights for boxer Roberto “Hands of Stone” Durán.

Moore’s civic and community involvement has included the Desert Labrador Retriever Rescue, the Boys and Girls Club and the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has also coached youth baseball for more than a decade with one of the top travel team organizations in the country.

In recognition of his outstanding baseball playing career while at Bridgewater College, Moore is worthy of induction into the College’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
