Don Glick was a superb basketball and track & field athlete at Bridgewater College and one who left a legendary record in Virginia high school athletics. Don ran the 880-yard run in track and captained the 1948-49 edition of the Bridgewater basketball team. He received his Bachelors of Arts from Bridgewater in 1949.

Don had an outstanding career as an educator and coach in the High School ranks. He spent a year each at Bridgewater and McGaheysville High Schools before moving to Montevideo High School in 1950 and remained there until it closed in 1980. He then spent six years at Montevideo Intermediate School before retiring in 1985. During the course of his 32-year career as a Coach and Athletic Director for Montevideo, he coached baseball, basketball, cross country, football and track & field. He totaled a combined record of 460-131, which included 15 district, six regional and four state championships. He coached track & field for 22 years, compiled a 159-24 record and captured state championships in 1972, "˜76, "˜77 and "˜79. He posted a 203-65 record as basketball coach from 1950-63.

Don received the Virginia High School League Walt Cormack Track & Field Award in 1973-74, was named Montevideo Teacher of the Year four times and won the Montevideo Outstanding Service Award in 1958-59. He was very active in the Church of the Brethren and Rockingham County Recreation Commission. He has been honored by Bridgewater College through the Don Glick Award for the Volunteer of the Year in the Annual Business Campaign and the Don Glick Men's Basketball Tournament held each December. Don was inducted into the Virginia High School League Hall of Fame in October, 1996.

Although he passed away in 1987, Don Glick's contributions in athletics and education in Rockingham County live on and make him an obvious selection to the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
