Michael A. Kidd finished his athletic career at Bridgewater College as one of the top track and field performers in college history.

"The best distance runner in BC history," according to long-time track and field head coach Shane Stevens, Mike set several records in track and cross country during his career.

As a senior, Mike ran the five-mile cross country course in a time of 24:54, a time that was never threatened on the old course. He also ran the 1,500 meters in a time of 3:52.7 during his senior year at the State Championship meet. The time still stands as a college-record nearly 30 years later.

As a senior, Mike finished second at the ODAC Cross Country Championships and qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship meet.

During his senior season, Mike was the ODAC champion in the mile during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship meet in the 1,500 meters during his senior season.

In addition to his college record in the 1,500 meters, Mike ran the 880 in 1:56.7, the mile in 4:17.9 and the two-mile in 9:20. All of those times rank near the top of the charts in the Bridgewater College record books.

Mike presently serves as Controller for Packaging Services of Maryland and has coached basketball at Heritage Academy in Hagerstown, Maryland for the past 18 years.

In recognition of his career as one of the finest track and field performers n college history, Michael A. Kidd is deserving or recognition into the Bridgewater College Athletics Hall of Fame.
