William H. "Bill" Littlepage graduated from Bridgewater College in 1958 and has since gone on to become one the most noteworthy and successful high school basketball coaches in the state of Virginia.

Litttlepage was a four-year letterman as a member of the Bridgewater basketball team and also managed the baseball team during his collegiate days. However, it has been as a head coach and educator at Hopewell High School in Hopewell, Va., where Littlepage has earned a legendary status as a superior mentor and leader in the athletic realm. During the course of the 1997-98 season, Littlepage became only the fourth Virginia High School league coach to obtain 600 career wins in boys' basketball, and has posted a 608-243 career record in 38 seasons at Hopewell High.

On January 16, 1998, Bill surpassed Husky Hall to become the all-time winningest coach in VHSL history at the time with 606 career victories. Since becoming the head coach of Hopewell in 1963, Littlepage has amassed 30 winning seasons in 35 years and has directed the Blue Devils to 11 regular season district championships, 12 district tournament championships, 21 regional tournament berths, four Central Region titles, six state tournament berths, three state championship game appearances and one Group AAA state championship. Littlepage's 1971-72 team went 23-2 and captured the Group AAA title while his 1986 and '96 teams finished as state runner-ups. For his accomplishments, Littlepage was selected as a charter member of the Virginia High School Hall of Fame in 1990 and was named the National Coach of the Year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association in 1993. Last year Littlepage was inducted into the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame and coached the East squad in the 1998 McDonald's All-American Game.

Off the court, Littlepage has been honored with Distinguished Service Awards from both state and national Coaches organizations and was recently named Citizen of the Year by the Hopewell Area Chamber of Commerce this past April. Bill Littlepage's coaching record and leadership of the Hopewell basketball program ranks second to none and his commitment to excellence as a coach and educator make him an overwhelming choice for the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame.
