LEXINGTON, Va. - Bridgewater College men's track & field posted competitive marks at the VMI Classic Saturday at the Corps Training Facility.
The men secured multiple finishes in the top-five along with first-place marks in the triple jump and the 3,000m.
Trey Birchett led in the high jump locking down a top mark of 1.94m and setting a personal best (ninth best mark in program history).
Jesus Flores posted a third-place result in the shot put with a mark of 14.73m (third-best mark all-time). Following that up was Walker Knicley in the pole vault with a strong mark of 3.85m. Lauchnor Lamb set a season best for the Eagles in the long jump with a 6.72m mark.
On the track, Gabe Miller ran a strong time of 9:01.76 landing at the top of the leaderboard for the Eagles.
Joe Amlacher performed well in the 60-meter hurdles, qualifying through to the finals with a prelim result of 8.78 seconds. Amlacher then took a sixth place result individually (8.96 seconds).
Rounding out the day was Bennett Cupps posting a top-five finish in the 800m with a time of 2:00.72 (second-fastest time at Bridgewater) and lastly Mike Smith placed second in the weight throw with a 17.64m mark.
