LYNCHBURG, Va. - Bridgewater College men's track and field competed well in the two-day invitational at Liberty Friday and Saturday.
The Eagles had more marks reach the all-time top-10 list in program history again in the young indoor season.
Bennett Cupps performed strongly again securing the third-fastest time in school history in the mile, posting a time of 4:21.64 and placing 10th in the event. On top of that, Cupps put up the fourth-fastest time all-time in the 1,000m with a time of 2:35.54. The distance runner placed seventh in the event.
Gabriel Miller also saw a solid mark in the 3,000m, clocking a time of 8:59.43 and breaking into the sixth-fastest time at Bridgewater.
Then, in the 400 meters, Gabe Wylie merely cracked the top-10 all-time list in the program, with just .09 milliseconds away. Wylie broke his personal best in the event running 51.42 while also breaking a personal best in the 200 with a time of 23.44.
Rounding out the fifth annual running of the Brant Tolsma Invitational, Mike Smith cruised to a conference-leading mark in the shot put (14.36m) and placed in the top-10 individually at the meet.
