LEXINGTON, Va. - Bridgewater men's track & field got the outdoor season going strongly on the first day of the W&L Carnival Friday in a two-day meet. 

Mike Smith continued his stellar performance from the indoor season with another impressive finish. Smith led the way for the Eagles claiming an event title in the hammer throw posting a mark of 53.08m. 

The other strong marks came from the field events as Lauchnor Lamb and Trey Birchett showed out to kick off the outdoor season. 

Birchett landed a third-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.94m. Lamb followed that up in the long jump, placing fourth with a strong mark of 6.45m.
