FOREST, Va. - Junior forward Laura Narby and freshman goalkeeper Erinn Lockard of the Bridgewater women's soccer team were announced the ODAC offensive and defensive players of the week for their performances against Mary Washington and Salisbury.
Narby, a Huntington, N.Y native, scored three goals this past week. Facing a 0-1 deficit against UMW, Narby drilled a shot from range to tie the match in the 78th minute. Five minutes later, she headed a pass from senior forward Lyric Birkley and found nylon. Narby's scoring efforts led BC to a 3-1 victory. In the match against Salisbury, Narby scored the game winning goal from distance off an assist from Sophia Phillips in the 52nd minute.
On the other side of the pitch, Lockard earned her second ODAC defensive player of the week honor of the season. The Vienna, Va. Native recorded six saves in the 3-1 victory over Mary Washington, and two saves in the 1-0 shutout win over Salisbury.
Narby, Lockard, and the rest of the women's soccer team faces Southern Virginia in Buena Vista, Va. On Thursday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
