BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College men's swimming took down Lynchburg with a total points score of 187-72 on senior day Saturday afternoon.
The men continued to put up strong performances like they have done throughout the season along with more records broken and first-place finishes highlighting the day.
To start off the afternoon, in the 200 medley relay, Zach Erb, Jeffrey Prevost, Andrea Cibrario, and Connor Cayer placed first with a time of 1:48.81. Then, right after, Ean Helmlinger cruised to a first-place finish in the 800 freestyle taking a 9:06.44 time. Helmlinger also placed first in the 400 Free (4:20.82) while Alessandro Nani scored in second place (4:28.72).
Kris Shultz in the 200 Free hit the boards first with a 2:01.73 time. Shultz later in the meet set a season best in the 200 IM going 2:21.30.
The men took first and second in 100 backstroke as Cibrario set a season best going 1:01.02. Erb placed just ahead, 1:00.91. Erb also placed first in the 200 IM with a blistering result of 2:16.80. The Eagles also swept in the 100 Breast, as Prevost, Alessandro Nani, and Gavin Senger placed 1,2, and 3 with times 1:07.17, 1:07.62, and 1:08.92; making that a personal best for Senger.
Brian Kustowksi hit a personal best in the 200 Fly, 2:23.01 placing atop the leaderboard.
Connor Cayer and Christian Carroll both set personal bests in the 50 sprint freestyle going 23.45 and 24.19. Nate Herman also set a personal best, 25.93. Cayer also took first in the 100 Free, 55.33.
Christian Carroll topped the leaderboard in 200 Back with a 2:17.22 time.
Two more personal bests came in the 200 Breast, with Erb first (2:28.79) and Shultz second (2:33.74).
The men also swept in the 100 Fly, as Cibrario, Beaudoin, and Bae placed 1,2, and 3 with a season best time from Cibrario set at 59.26 and a PB for Beaudoin of 1:01.07.
