Taylor Myers and
Abby Mikolay highlighted the opening event of the 2025 indoor season for the Bridgewater College Women's track and field team.
Myers opened the day with a strong showing in the mile run as her time of 5:07.85 was good enough for a third place finish right in the middle of some Flames from Liberty and also set a new program record. Rookie
Olivia Crigger crossed the line for a fourth place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.57 seconds in her collegiate debut to crack the program's top 10 list.Â
Jade Buckles tallied a fourth place finish in the 60m dash as she crossed the line with a time of 7.91 seconds, but her prelim time of 7.87 seconds was the third fastest in program history.
In the field events, Mikolay and
Brianna Morgan opened the morning with a fifth and sixth place finish in the weight throw with marks of 13.35m and 13.15m respectively while
Elizabeth Ramos also cracked the program's al-time leaders with her mark. The morning also featured fifth and sixth place finishes from SUmmer Wallace and Buckles in the long jump with distances od 5.13m and 5.07m each. Mikolay turned around in the afternoon and set a meet record in the shot put as her mark of 12.77m broke the previous record set last year and also ranks second on the program's all-time list.Â
The Eagles are back in action on Jan. 18 in the Nation's Capital at the Robert Comstock Cardinal Invitational hosted by Catholic.
