NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Wednesday All-Region honors with three Bridgewater College women's athletes named to the accolade after a solid outdoor season.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
Abby Mikolay took the field events by storm this season earning All-Region in both the shot put and discus throw. Mikolay went all the way at ODACs claiming the event title in discus with a mark of 44.89m (second-best in south region). The junior also put up the fourth-best mark regionally in shot put with a mark of 12.78m.
In the long jump, Summer Wallace led the way for Bridgewater. Wallace received All-ODAC Third Team at ODACs after a 5.33m result. The jumper finished with the fifth-best mark regionally leaping 5.51m.
Rounding out the regionalists for the Eagles was distance runner Taylor Myers. Myers earned ODAC Rookie of the Meet at the conference championships along with establishing a school record in the 10,000m. Myers finished the season with the second-fastest time in the region at 36:52.27.
