HOW IT HAPPENED
- Each side traded makes to open the game before a Guilford long ball disrupted the trend. Riley Corcoran made one of two at the charity stripe before another GC bucket made it 7-3 in favor of the visitors. Abby Freeman laid it in at the hoop off a dish from Kayla Ford to get BC back on the board before Guilford replied shortly after. Ford found Jaden Alsberry to get back to within two and shortly after Corcoran tied the game with north of three minutes left in the quarter. Guilford wrestled the lead back before another Corcoran make evened the game at 11-11. The Quakers closed the opening quarter on a 7-0 run to make it 18-11 after one.
- Reagan Maynard found Freeman on the low block to end the Guilford run in the opening seconds of the second quarter. Jaiden Polston connected with Dailey to get BC to within three before a 4-0 Quaker run made it 22-15. On cue, BC responded with buckets from Corcoran, Dailey and Alsberry for a 6-0 run to pull back to within one. Back-to-back makes put GC back in front by multiple scores at 26-21. The Eagles went to work and put together a 9-1 run to take the lead and pull ahead 30-27 with under a minute to go in the half. Guilford got back in the scoring column to pull within one before a Maynard make at the line made it a two-point lead. Anna Gianopoulou scored within the final 10 seconds to tie the game 31-31 at the intermission.
- Ford got in on the scoring as she drilled a long ball out of the break. BC pulled ahead slightly to open the quarter before a three-pointer tied the game at 36-36. Alsberry got to the hoop on another Ford assist to give the Eagles the lead back and spark a 6-0 BC run to make it 42-36 in favor of the home side. Guilford got back on the board before Polston's third-chance effort pushed the lead back out to six. A Giannopoulou bucket drew Guilford back to within four again, but on cue Alsberry and Freeman started a 9-0 BC scoring spree to blow the game open as the Eagles were in front 53-40 inside of a minute left in the third quarter. GC scored twice in the final 45 seconds of the frame to make it 53-44 heading to the final 10 minutes of play.
- Giannopoulou got Guilford on the board first in the fourth quarter before a Corcoran and-one gave the Eagles all the momentum back. Another Corcoran bucket put the Eagles ahead by 12 before GC replied. The Quakers pulled back to within seven at 60-53 before a Dailey three-pointer and an Alsberry bucket put them back in front by 12 once more. Once again GC pulled back to inside of double-digits before Alexis Edmonds knocked down a three-pointer with 2:43 to give BC an 11-point advantage. An Alsberry layup inside of the final minute put the final touches on the successful afternoon for BC.
