BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater men's swimming team picked up a 147-115 victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday for the first win over the Knights in program history.
The Eagles opened the day with a victory in the 200m Medley Relay.
Jose Urdaneta,
Luke Wintersgill,
Andrea Cibrario and
Jack Cataneo teamed up for the win finishing with a time of 1:51.20.
Ean Helmlinger kept the theme going picking up a win in the 800m freestyle and finished just a touch off his program record from a week ago, touching the wall at the 9:11.96 mark.
Cibrario got back in the win column in the 100m backstroke and broke the program record in the process finishing with a time of 59.93 seconds.
Wintersgill followed his opening relay mate picking up the victory in the 100m breaststroke.
Urdaneta and
Kris Schultz picked up the first one-two finish for the Eagles on the afternoon in the 200m butterfly. Urdaneta added another win in the 200m backstroke to help keep the Eagles in front.
Cibrario capped off the afternoon breaking his own program record in the 200 IM finishing with a time of 2:12.49 to break his third record on the day.
The Eagles return to action on January 20 at Hampden-Sydney in their final event before the ODAC Championships.
