Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Bridgewater women's soccer team grabbed their first win of the season 3-0 over Catholic on Saturday
The Basics
Final Score: Bridgewater 3, Catholic 0
Records: Bridgewater 1-1, Catholic 1-1
How It Happened
- Bridgewater had plenty of chances right out of the gate. BC would put two shots on goal prior to the 37th minute when they would get another opportunity off of a corner kick. Off of the corner junior Katelyn Seagraves fired a shot from just beyond the box and found the top shelf to put Bridgewater out in front 1-0.
- Right out of the gate in the second half the Eagles had a chance as junior Ashley Sabatino put a shot on net, but the save was made by Ava Rieger to keep the game at 1-0.
- In the 58th minute freshman Kendall Garza would find herself one on one with Rieger and got the better of the Cardinal's keeper stretching the Bridgewater lead to 2-0.
- Catholic would not go away down by a pair of goals. After a trio of saves by Rieger the Cardinals flipped the field trying to put together a run before junior goal keeper Carlee Gaboury stood tall coming out of the crease to make a stop.
- BC mounted a late push in the final ten minutes of play. The pressure paid off once again as Seagraves found the back of the net for the second time off the boot of junior Skyler Daum to make it a 3-0 game.
