Box Score WINCHESTER, Va. – The Bridgewater College field hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision at Shenandoah on Friday night.
The Hornets would open the scoring on the game's second shot on goal, which was converted exactly 10 minutes in by Kelsey Jones.
The Eagles earned a penalty corner late in the first quarter and soon after had a blocked attempt by Karinne Moyer, but couldn't get a shot on target on either opportunity.
Kelsey Hicks nearly tied it up in the second quarter, but her attempt was swept off the line by Kylee Tuebner behind the goalie.
The Hornets had a run of chances just before halftime, as Lauren Tyre hit the post and Brooke Hamm stopped Jones on a penalty corner right at the end of the period.
Hamm made five saves in the third quarter but Shenandoah was able to double its lead. The Hornets added a third in the final period, and hit the woodwork again off a shot by Jones.
Bridgewater (3-2, 3-2 ODAC) will look to get back on track Tuesday with a nearby road contest vs. Eastern Mennonite. Shenandoah is 5-1, 5-1 on the year.
