How It Happened

  • The Generals had a shot just three minutes in, but a save by Ashley Nau kept the game scoreless. WLU continued to push as they had a shot blocked and then earned a penalty corner. The Generals cashed in on the chance as Charlotte Dreany found the back of the net to make it 1-0 just shy of nine minutes in. BC tried to get some offense going, but the Generals continued to push and rifled off another shot late in the frame that was saved by Nau.

  • Washington and Lee had a flurry of chances early in the second quarter, but a pair of defensive saves by Destiny Joseph and a save by Nau in the cage kept the difference at just a goal. BC tried to get the offense going again, but WLu was back on it with a pair of shots, including one on frame that was saved by Nau in the final minute of the half.

  • The visitors had the first scoring opportunity of the second half, but their shot was blocked. BC flipped the field and earned a penalty corner. Kyile Amberger fired off BC's first shot on the chance but it was blocked. Jade Buckles had a chance as well on a corner that followed, but her shot met the same fate. Washington and Lee countered, but a pair of saves by Madalyn Miller kept the score the same heading to the final frame.

  • WLU had a shot on target within the first minute of the fourth quarter, but a save by Miller kept BC in range. Sydney Baggett found the back of the net for the Generals to make it 2-0 with under eight minutes to play. Miller made a pair of saves, and BC tried to use the momentum, but Carynn Klingler had her shot blocked in what would be the Eagles' final shot of the day.
