Box Score
BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Karinne Moyer scored twice in the second half as the Bridgewater College field hockey team won 2-1 at Ferrum on Friday night.
Moyer scored on the first shot of the second half by either team, and then put another shot on target off a penalty corner minutes later that was saved by Mia Holmes.
On the opening scoring chance of the fourth quarter, Moyer slotted home the rebound after her initial shot was saved by Holmes.
After winning their last game despite a 34-3 shot disparity, it was the opposite case in the first half vs. Ferrum as the teams were tied 0-0 at halftime despite Bridgewater holding a 12-0 advantage in shots and a 5-0 edge in penalty corners.
Holmes saved Courtney Cooke twice in the first quarter, then stopped both Cooke and Caroline Quigley off a penalty corner early in the second. She later made consecutive saves off another second quarter corner to deny both Moyer and Allison Thompson.
Ferrum added a consolation goal in transition with just two seconds remaining on the clock.
Bridgewater improves to 3-1, 3-1 ODAC and will host Randolph-Macon on Tuesday.
