LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Bridgewater College field hockey team lost at defending ODAC champion Lynchburg on Friday evening.

Courtney Cooke scored late in the first period for Bridgewater off a penalty corner, batting the rebound in after her initial shot was saved.

The hosts took a 5-0 first quarter lead en route to an 11-1 victory, getting multiple goals from four players.

Karinne Moyer nearly added a goal five minutes into the second half, but hit the post.

Brooke Hamm made 12 saves in the cage for Bridgewater.

The Eagles fall to 1-1 and will host Roanoke on Tuesday.
