Men's Swimming Sets Four Records, Gets First ODAC Win of Season

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College men's swimming team set four more school meter records in a double-dual split in Nininger Pool.

The Eagles got their first conference win of the season vs. Ferrum by a score of 123-63, but lost to Southern Virginia for the second time this year (137-77).

Twin brothers set school records in consecutive events, as Sean Cunningham's mark in the 100 breast (1:16.09) was immediately followed by Ryan Cunningham's record performance of 2:22.54 in the 200 fly.

The Cunninghams also teamed up with Austin Bacon and Benjamin Dillon to lower the school mark in the 200 medley relay to 2:01.06.

Bacon later lowered the 200 back record to 2:25.36.

Bridgewater also got event wins from Bacon in the 200 free (2:08.91) and 400 free (4:40.55), and from R. Cunningham in the 200 IM (2:25.20).

The Eagles (2-6, 1-3 ODAC) will compete next weekend at the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jacket Invitational.
