BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater senior Catherine Haufe scored with just 41 seconds remaining in the first overtime period Wednesday to lift the Eagles to a key 2-1 ODAC victory over Shenandoah.

With time running out in the first overtime, Hanna Randolph possessed the ball on the right side and beat two defenders to the baseline. Randolph centered a pass to middle of the box, just in front of the goal where Cyan Coates touched the ball back to the center of the box to Haufe. Haufe hit her shot into the side net just inside the far post for the game-winner.

Shenandoah scored first, taking the lead in the 18th minute. Abbie Marquette sent a long pass ahead into the box where Emily Yergin volleyed the ball past Bridgewater keeper Sydney Davis for a 1-0 Hornets' lead.

The Eagles tied the score five minutes later when Randolph's corner kick hooked inside the near post to pull Bridgewater even.

Bridgewater held a 20-15 edge in total shots during the fast-paced contest. The Eagles also led in corner kick opportunities, 8-1.

Davis recorded four saves for the Eagles while Hornets' keeper Emilie Smith finished with seven saves.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Eagles. Bridgewater is now 7-5-2 overall and 3-2 in the ODAC. 

The Eagles are back in action on Saturday morning for Homecoming when they host Randolph College. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m.
