Eagles, Tigers Play To 1-1 Draw

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - Bridgewater College picked up a big point in the ODAC standings Saturday afternoon as the Eagles battled Hampden-Sydney to a 1-1 draw.

Bridgewater is now in third place in the ODAC with a 5-1-1 record, good for 16 points. The Eagles are 8-4-1 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Bridgewater took the lead when Patrick Peach scored in the 49th with Jacob Heiston credited with the assist for the Eagles.

Bridgewater was less than a minute away from claiming victory when the Tigers tied the contest in the final minute of regulation. Spell Carr cleaned up a loose ball int he box with just 40 seconds remaining to send the contest to overtime.

The Tigers put good pressure on the Eagles in the second overtime, but goalkeeper Quentin Boric made three saves to preserve the 1-1 tie.

Bridgewater is back in action Wednesday when they host Washington and Lee in the final home game of the regular season. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
