Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Bridgewater ran its record to 10-2-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the ODAC with a 9-0 victory Friday afternoon over Sweet Briar College.
The Eagles took command early with two goals in the first five minutes. Keri Rager opened the scoring with a goal in the third minute and less than two minutes later Bailey Kratz found the back of the net to make it 2-0. Isabella Krider had the assist on both goals.
Kratz scored again in the 13th minute and Bridget Fabiani scored off a cross from Isabella Weigel in the 23rd minute to push the lead to 4-0. A goal by Anna Sobus off an assist from Kelly Patterson made the score 5-0 before Selena Mendo closed out the first half scoring with a goal in the 39th minute for a 6-0 halftime lead.
Catherine Haufe scored her first career goal to open the second half, making the score 7-0. Patterson recorded her second assist of the game on Haufe's goal.
Haufe picked up another point when her cross into the box led to a goal by Weigel to push the lead to 8-0.
Amber Sandy scored her first goal of the season off a set piece in the 67th minute to wrap up the scoring. The Eagles were awarded a corner kick and a quick give-and-go led to Emily Brummett's cross into the box where Sandy supplied the finish.
First-year goalkeeper Alyssa Pearson picked up the shutout in her first collegiate start. Pearson had an uneventful day as the her teammates held Sweet Briar to zero shots. The shutout was Bridgewater's ninth of the season in 13 games.
Bridgewater is back in action Sunday afternoon when the Eagles travel to Ashland, Va. to play Randolph-Macon College.
