The Eagles, EMU and Randolph end the season in a three-way tie for sixth, seventh and eighth place in the standings. The pairings and game times for first-round tournament games will be announced by the conference office.
Play was even in the opening half of Tuesday evening's contest as shots were all square at three apiece. There was only one shot on goal in the entire half and that came off the foot of Bridgewater's Logan McGlynn in the 30th minute.
The Royals scored the lone goal of the game 15 minutes into the second half when Juan Luna knocked in an unassisted goal from the left side.
Bridgewater had several chances down the stretch but the Eagles were unable to score the equalizer.
McGlynn nearly tied the score in the 79th minute when his shot from 25 yards, straight on, hit the crossbar and ricocheted back into the box where the Royals were able to clear the ball out of their defensive end.
The Eagles threatened again in the 82nd minute when they were awarded a corner kick. Ethan McBryde served a high ball into the box. Alex Farrington headed the ball toward the goal where a Royals defender cleared the ball off the goal line to preserve the 1-0 lead.
Bridgewater had two more corners and two more shots on goal in the final five minutes, but EMU survived to take the 1-0 victory.
The Eagles finished the contest with a 13-7 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. McGlynn led Bridgewater with five shots. EMU put just two shots on goal the entire evening as Eagles goalkeeper Kevin Morris finished with one save. Royals' keeper Ryan Zerkel recorded three saves.
