Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Bridgewater men's soccer team picked up a big ODAC victory on the road Saturday evening as the Eagles blanked Guilford College, 3-0.
With the victory, Bridgewater climbed above the .500 mark with a 4-3-2 overall record. The Eagles are now 1-0-1 in the conference.
Bridgewater grabbed the lead in the 23rd minute when Ben Lewis put the Eagles on the board with an assist from Max Chacon.
The score was still 1-0 at the half, but the Eagles put the game away with two goals in the first seven minutes of the second half.
Chacon made it 2-0 when he scored off an assist from Derek Newsome. An unassisted goal by Adrian Zamora in the 52nd minute put the Eagles on top 3-0.
Bridgewater held an 18-13 edge in shots while the Quakers had the advantage in corner kicks, 6-3.
Eagles' goalkeepers Kevin Morris and Frank Simme combined to record the shutout. Morris played the first 65 minutes and finished with three saves. Simme finished up and added one save.
Bridgewater is back in action Wednesday afternoon when the Eagles host Virginia Wesleyan. Game time is 4 p.m.
