BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Freshman Taylor Prillaman tallied two goals and the Eagles outshot the visiting Generals by a 21-to-6 margin as Bridgewater College rounded out the regular season with a 2-0 victory over Washington and Lee on Wednesday afternoon at Mapp Field.

With the win, the Eagles secure the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) tournament and will open play on Saturday morning at Mapp Field against an opponent that has yet to be determined.

Both teams had early shots at the go-ahead goal, but it was Bridgewater getting on the board first. At the 7:20 mark of the first half, Prillaman stuck her first shot of the game in the back of the cage on a crossing pass from Colleen Dickson to put the Eagles up, 1-0.

After the goal, the Eagles kept their foot on the pedal on the offensive end of the field and had numerous opportunities but had to settle for a one-goal halftime lead.

Bridgewater controlled the action in the first half of play, outshooting the visiting Generals by a 13-to-3 gap. The Eagles also owned a 4-to-1 advantage in first-half corners.

Out of the intermission, the Generals took control of the contest rattling off a pair of shots before the Eagles added an insurance goal.

At the 7:20 mark of the second half, Prillaman punched a shot past the Washington and Lee goalie off of an assist from senior Kelly Ryan to put the Eagles up, 2-0. Prillaman's second tally came off of a scrum in front of the net that the Generals couldn't clear away.

Both teams had opportunities to find the back of the net over the final 20 minutes of play, but it was Bridgewater eventually rolling to a 2-0 victory over the Generals.

Prillaman, Dickson and sophomore Caroline Augsburger each registered four shots on the afternoon, with Prillaman's two-goal effort pacing the way.

Washington and Lee was paced by the offensive efforts of Charlotte McDonald and Alex Hensleigh. The tandem each posted two-shot games in the loss.

Junior Jessica Balsano turned away three Washington and Lee shots to earn her ninth win of the year, while Kirsten Kyne made 11 saves for the Generals in the loss.

Bridgewater is back in action on Saturday at Mapp Field as it hosts a team that has yet to be determined in the opening round of the ODAC Tournament.
