Box Score WASHINGTON D.C. - Bridgewater College scored three goals in the final 20 minutes Sunday afternoon to defeat FDU-Florham, 5-2, in action at the Catholic women's soccer tournament.
The Eagles took a quick 2-0 lead and held that margin at the break.
Helen Feeser (Laurel, Md/St. Vincent Pallotti) scored off an assist from Meghan Groos (Linden, Va./Warren County) in the 20th minute to put the Eagles on the board and a goal by Melanie Waters (Pasedena, Md./Chesapeake Senior) in the 34th minute made the score 2-0.
FDU-Florham rallied to tie the score but the Eagles responded with three unanswered goals to secure the victory.
Paxton Sauerwald (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley) scored off an assist from Jessica Palmer (Fairplay, Md./Williamsport) to put the Eagles back on top and a penalty kick by Abby Dehoff (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) made it 4-2.
Waters scored again in the final minuite to close out the 5-2 victory.
With the victory, the Eagles improved to 5-0, the best start to a season in program history.
