BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Ryan Tavernaris (Staunton, Va./Fort Defiance) scored one goal and assisted on another Saturday  to lead the Bridgewater Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Ferrum in the Upper 90 Soccer Challenge In The Valley hosted by the Eagles.

The Eagles scored first on an early corner. Daniel Visone (Fredericksburg, Va./Colonial Forge) took the corner and his shot found the net for a quick 1-0 lead just three minutes in.

Bridgewater scored again 10 minutes later when Ryan Tavernaris found Sawyer Janes (Waynesboro, Va./Waynesboro) with a pass and Janes beat the Ferrum keeper for a 2-0 lead.

The scored remained that way until the 84th minute when Ryan Tavernaris scored off an assist from Nathan Tavernaris (Staunton, Va./Fort Defiance), giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Bridgewater held an 18-13 edge in shots and an 8-7 edge in corners.

Bridgewater keeper TJ Martin (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) finished the contest with six saves and recorded the shutout.

The Eagles return to action Sunday when they host Wesley at 1:00 p.m.
