SALEM, Va. - Roanoke College scored two second-half goals Saturday to defeat the Bridgewater College Eagles 2-0 in ODAC women's soccer action.

The Eagles battled the Maroons on even terms in the first half as the teams went to the break tied at 0-0. Roanoke held a slim 5-3 edge in shots in the opening half.

Roanoke controlled play in the second half as they held a 7-1 edge in shot attempts.

The Maroons scored early in the second half when Rebekah Adams scored on a free kick from just outside the box in the 58th minute.

Adams added an insurance goal in the closing minutes to clinch the 2-0 victory for the Maroons.

Bridgewater goalkeeper Cari Hensley (Danville, Va./George Washington) finished the contest with seven saves.

The Eagles are now 2-6-1 overall and 1-2 in ODAC play. Roanoke is undefeated in the conference at 2-0 and improves to 6-3-1 overall.
