Box Score ASHLAND, Va. - Ferrum College scored midway
through the second half Saturday afternoon to edge past Bridgewater
College, 1-0, at the Randolph-Macon Select Tournament.
The Eagles controlled the play in the first half, holding an
11-1 edge in shots and a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks. Ferrum
goalkeeper Chris Taylor made five saves in the first 45 minutes as
the half ended in a scoreless tie.
Ferrum found more chances in the second half as the shot totals
were even in the final 45 minutes. Ferrum's Chris Key found the
back of the net with what proved to be the game-winning goal at the
67:58 mark.
The Eagles finished with a 20-10 edge in shots and an 8-5
advantage in corner kicks.
Ferrums's Taylor finished the game with 10 saves while Eagles'
goalkeeper Travis Morris
Westminster, Md./Winters Mill)finished with four saves, all in the
second half.
Bridgewater, now 0-4, will play Washington College on
Sunday.
