LEXINGTON, Va. - Washington and Lee scored an early goal in each half Saturday afternoon and defeat Bridgewater College, 2-0, in ODAC men's soccer action.

Slow starts have plagued the Eagles in recent matches and Saturday was no different as the Generals got on the board on a goal by Ben Belair just 4:41 into the game.

The Eagles settled in after the early goal and played the Generals even for the rest of the half and trailed 1-0 at the break.

W&L struck early in the second half when James Pymm scored off an assist from Alex Zelinski, giving the Generals a 2-0 lead.

The Generals held a 13-4 edge in shots. Bridgewater keeper Travis Morris (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) finished the contest with seven saves.

The Eagles, now 2-13-2 overall and 1-7-2 in the ODAC, close out their season Tuesday afternoon when they host Randolph College. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
