Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Bridgewater College rallied
from an early 1-0 deficit Tuesday to defeat Eastern Mennonite
University, 3-1, in ODAC women's soccer action.
Ally Brown put EMU on the board at the 30:50 mark and the Royals
stayed on top until the Eagles took advantage of a corner kick to
knot the score. Kathy Bundrick scored off an assist from Sarah
Taylor, tying the score at 1-1 with 5:03 left in the first half.
The score remained tied until the 78:13 mark when the Eagles
scored the go-ahead goal off another corner kick. Brittney Harris
scored the goal for BC with Taylor recording her second assist of
the game, making the score 2-1.
Bridgewater added an insurance goal less than two minutes later
when Harris scored again, this time with the assist going to Megan
Ryan.
The Eagles finished the contest with an 18-8 advantage in shots,
including an 11-4 edge in the second half. Bridgewater finished
with a 10-4 lead in shots on goal and an 8-2 edge in corners.
Bridgewater keeper Cari Hensley finished with three saves while
EMU's Abby Diffenbach recorded seven saves.
Bridgewater improved to 11-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the ODAC. EMU
dropped to 5-8 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
The Eagles are back in action Saturday when they travel to
Lynchburg College for a 7:00 p.m. start.
