WESTMINSTER, Md. - Noah Hughes '24 claimed his first victory at his Alma Mater as the Bridgewater men's tennis team opened the fall campaign with a weather-shortened 4-0 sweep of McDaniel on Tuesday.
The Eagles opened the match by sweeping doubles play on the way to the doubles point.
Corey Beshoar and
Steven Perry picked up a win at the top spot 6-3 while Eli Enstminger and
Henry Riner rolled to a 6-1 victory at No. 2.
Logan Garner and
Coree Nicely completed the sweep as they picked up a victory by default at No. 3.
Nicely got a victory by default at No. 6 to open singles play, while Garner rolled to a double bagel victory at No. 5 6-0, 6-0. Riner locked up the sweep as he was ahead 6-0, 3-0 before his opponent was forced to retire. The rain followed as the rest of the matches were suspended.
The Eagles are back in action next weekend as they travel to the ITA Southeast Regional in Fredericksburg.
