How It Happened
-
The Generals rolled on six goals in the opening quarter, putting distance between the Eagles immediately. Although BCE was able to cut down on its penalties only being carded one green card in the first quarter, WLU had a game plan that continued to work in its favor over and over again. The dominant offense stunted any potential scoring chance for BCE. The Generals built a 12-0 lead at the end of the first half, finding their way easily.
-
A pair of goals were added to the General's side in the third quarter in the first seven minutes of play, putting another halt to scoring opportunities for the Eagles. However, the offense finally found a path to seep through the defense and Paige Mayers was at the head of the drive, as she launched a shot to hit the back of the net. A minute later, the Generals responded with another goal enlarging the lead to 15-1. Jenna Entsminger then got on top of a possession whipping through the defense. Entsminger got a solid pass from Mayers to ring in the second goal of the day, but the Generals again put a stop to any scoring surge.
