HIGH POINT, N.C. - Bridgewater track & field wrapped up the final day of the two-day meet at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting as three throwers were sent to compete Saturday.
Abby Mikolay on the women's side, held strong in the shot put to take a top-25 finish (24th) of 39 finishers with a mark of 11.28m. Then, Mikolay quickly turned things around to compete in the discus throw, setting a new personal best mark of 43.85m and placing ninth. That mark improved her own second all-time mark at Bridgewater.Â
On the men's side, Jesus Flores placed top-20 among tough Division I competitors in the shot put. Flores threw a strong mark of 14.15m for a 16th place finish. Mike Smith took a top-25 finish for 22nd with a mark of 13.44m of 39 finishers. Smith then competed in the discus throw, rounding out a 20th place finish of 41 total finishers for a mark of 43.16m.Â
The track & field team will be back in action on April 12 for the EMU Invite.

Jade Buckles broke her personal best in the 100m dash with a time of 12.33 seconds. Buckles also set a new personal best in the 200m with a time of 25.17. In both events, Buckles placed top-20 among competitive Division I runners. Â
Summer Wallace also closed out in the 200 with a strong time of 25.35, finishing in the top-25 of 59 finishers.Â

Mike Smith went up against tough Division I competitors at High Point in the hammer throw. Smith held his own and took seventh place with a mark of 52.73m.Â
