Grefe Earns ODAC Special Teams Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. - Aiden Grefe of the Bridgewater College Football team was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week after scoring a clutch touchdown on a fake field goal.

Bridgewater found itself down 17-6 with 3:56 to go in the fourth quarter when the Eagles dialed up some trickery. BC lined up for a field goal, but ran a fake on fourth down and goal from the one yard-line. Grefe rolled out to the left looking for a receiver, but no one was open and the punter kept it himself and sprinted to the pylon for the score. Bridgewater went for two following the score and was successful to cut the lead to three with under four minutes to play.

Grefe also had one punt for 44 yards in the loss and continues to rank among the national leaders as he averages (No. 3) 45.6 yards per punt.

The Eagles are back in action on Saturday as they host Roanoke on Homecoming. Kick is set for 2 p.m.
