FOREST, Va. - Xavier Edelen has been named the ODAC Special Teams Player of the Week after breaking off the longest punt return for a touchdown in Division III so far this season.

Edelen was called upon to return punts after BC's primary punt returner went down due to injury and delivered. THe senior took his first punt return of the day from his own 11-yard line and sped through a gap and just narrowly outlasted a Roanoke defender into the endzone for a touchdown. The score gave BC the lead 14-7 late in the third quarter and swung the momentum in favor of the Eagles.

The return was the longest in Division III this season and the longest in the division since the opening week of 2023. Edelen's return also is the longest in the ODAC since 2019.

The Eagles are back in action on Saturday as they host Gallaudet at 2 p.m.
