How It Happened

Bridgewater got a penalty corner early in the second quarter, but did not muster a shot. Roanoke had its first scoring opportunity just past five minutes into the stanza, but the shot was fired wide. Jade Buckles was able to rifle a shot on goal, but a save by Chloe Miller kept the game scoreless. Roanoke had a chance in the closing seconds of the half, but a save by Ashley Nau and a stand by the BC defense sent the game to the half tied at 0-0.

The Eagles had a plethora of chances in the opening five minutes of the second half. BC tallied five shots and had four penalty corners in the sequence, but nothing found the back of the net and game remained scoreless. Roanoke had a pair of chances late in the frame, but a save by Madalyn Miller kept the game tied heading to the fourth.
- The final stanza of regulation featured chances on both sides as a save by M. Miller kept the game tied in the opening minutes of the frame. RC had another pair of shots both turned away and Bridgewater flipped the field, but none of the Eagles' three shots in the final minute found the back of the cage.
- Roanoke controlled play in the first overtime as M. Miller came up with three saves for the Eagles to force the game to a second overtime period. The second stanza was short lived as The Eagles organized a run early. Carynn Klingler looked up field and found Kylie Amberger deep in the Roanoke end. Amberger was dispossessed by the RC goalkeeper, but Natalie Stock scooped up the loose change and scored on the empty net for the victory.

Stock tallied the game winner on her only shot of the day. Klingler led BC with seven shots, two on goal and the key outlet pass for the victory. Nau made one save on the only shot she saw on target, while M. Miller made seven saves with many of those coming in clutch time.
