Records – Bridgewater (10-2-2, 5-0-1 ODAC), Randolph-Macon (7-4-3, 1-3-2 ODAC)

How it Happened
  • Bridgewater operated heavily in the RMC defensive end for the opening minutes. Riley Queen ripped the first shot attempt of the match at the 3:44 mark, sending it wide. Trey Widrick put a shot on target shortly after, but it was stopped by the RMC keeper.
  • In the tenth minute, Cole Dunbar took his first shot of the match. The shot was blocked, but he followed with another that found the back of the net to give the Eagles an early lead.
  • Randolph-Macon put a couple shots on the mark in the 22nd minute, but both met the gloves of BC keeper Zane Kowalski. Macon would put one more shot on target at the 37:51 mark, but the shot was unable to find nylon.
  • Widrick had a shot on target in the 41st minute, but it was saved by Ethan Chenoweth. That was the last shot from BC in the first half.
  • The Eagles struck early in the second half. Queen and Dunbar found themselves on a 2-versus-one situation heading downhill, only facing the Yellow Jackets' goalkeeper. Queen found nylon to give the Eagles an insurance goal.
  • Despite being ahead by two scores, Bridgewater kept ripping towards the RMC goal. Anthony Medrano, Erly Canales, and Joshua Parker each took their first shot attempts of the match in the following minutes. Dunbar took the final shot attempt for the Eagles at the 87:39 mark. It was saved by Chenoweth.
  • In the waning minutes of the match, Kowalski stayed busy on the defensive end. In the final twenty minutes, the freshman keeper stopped four shots, and had one deflected off the right woodwork. Despite the valiant effort to ensure the shutout, RMC scored a goal to get on the board with two minutes remaining in the match.
Match Notes
  • Cole Dunbar notched his third goal of the season.
  • Riley Queen recorded his tenth goal of the season. He is the first player on the roster this season with double-digit goals.
  • Queen has recorded points in the last five matches. This is the third consecutive match where he scored a goal. Queen is currently the conference leader in goals scored.
  • This is the first match since facing Mary Washington on Sept. 24 where Trey Widrick did not record a point. Widrick had three shot attempts and put all three on target, but was unable to find the back of the net. Despite this, Widrick still sits second in the conference in goals, third in assists, and first in points.
  • With the victory, Bridgewater remains one of three undefeated teams in conference play. The other two are Washington and Lee and Hampden-Sydney.
  • The Eagles currently are tied with Washington and Lee for the top seed in the ODAC standings. Both teams are sitting at 5-0-1 in conference play.
