BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Bridgewater College men's soccer team worked a 2-2 draw against Averett Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

Despite the lack of scoring for the remainder of the half, Bridgewater kept the action in the Averett defensive half. More notably, Anthony Eugenio put a couple shots on target, and Noa Denno nearly put the Eagles ahead, but was stopped by the top woodwork.

The second half saw more balance in possession, but Bridgewater still controlled the shots battle in the stats sheet. Cole Dunbar took the first shot attempt of the half, but it was off the mark. Riley Queen also ripped a shot towards a goal, but it was saved by the Averett keeper. Leo Vasquez, Joshua Parker, Eugenio, and Denno each took shots as the half progressed, but were unable to give BC the edge.

A couple minutes later, Hudson Bradley received a pass from the other half of the field. Bradley set up on the left and took advantage of an open opportunity. His shot made it past Kowalski, once again equalizing the score.

Bridgewater dominated the general shots statistic for the match. The Eagles had 24 shot attempts for the entire match, and put eight on target. Averett, however, had four shot attempts for the match. All four attempted were on target.

Despite the tie, Bridgewater is one of four teams in the ODAC that are yet to lose in ODAC play. The other three teams are Lynchburg, Washington & Lee, and Hampden-Sydney.
