How It Happened
- William Peace looked to strike first as the Pacers got a shot on target in the fourth minute that was scooped up by Charles Schweinefuss. Gavin Kast had BC's first look at a scoring chance, but his shot missed wide. WPU flipped the field and had multiple chances over a seven-minute span, but Schweinefuss and the BC defense held their ground to keep the game tied.
- Trey Widrick fired a shot in the 23rd minute on the back-end of a free kick opportunity, but it missed the frame. The Pacers gained the momentum back and had a dangerous opportunity in the 33rd minute, but some great reflexes by Schweinefuss stopped the initial shot and the rebound chance. The senior keeper made two more stops in the closing minutes of the first half to send it to the break scoreless.
- The scoring chances got a little calmer on both sides as the defenses controlled the pace over the opening minutes of the second half. WPU had the first chance and got two chances off, but both were wide. The Pacers saw a few more chances over the middle part of the second half but could not find the cage.
- Colin Tibbs tried to spark the BC offense as the rookie got a shot off for the Eagles in the 72nd minute but found the crossbar. Schweinefuss kept the Eagles in it with another clutch save in the 80th minute and BC looked to use the momentum. Widrick saw a chance in the 84th minute and got the Eagles their first shot on frame, but it was saved by Rafa Quevodo-Antunez for the Pacers. William Peace had a shot go off the crossbar on the field flip, but the Eagles flipped it even quicker as WPU had to foul to allow the defense to reset in the final 30 seconds. Widrick got a shot off during the ensuing free kick, but it hit the crossbar to seal the tie.
